Welcome back to planDisney, Rachel! I'm pleased to answer your question today, but I'm sorry to hear that you've got an injury right before your trip. The good news is that you do have some options to take a load off and regroup at
Magic Kingdom and
Animal Kingdom, and I'm happy to walk you through them.
The best place available for you to lie down for a few minutes is
First Aid. At Magic Kingdom, it's at the end of Main Street, U.S.A., tucked between Casey's Corner and The Crystal Palace. The Cast Members there are wonderful, and they can help you find a quiet spot to rest flat and catch a breather. At Animal Kingdom, First Aid is on Discovery Island next to Creature Comforts. If you're unsure, open up the
My Disney Experience app and search "First Aid," and you'll see the exact locations and walking directions on the map.
I have a few comfort tips to make the day kinder on your back! Make sure to build in mini rest breaks at shows and slower-paced attractions. You could also consider
renting an ECV or a wheelchair, even if it's just for part of the day. Saving those steps can make a huge difference when you're healing! Keep a small hot or cold pack in your bag, and make sure to hydrate, snack, and stretch when you can. Your body will thank you!
With a 3-year-old in tow, it's also a good idea to look for some low-effort wins. At Magic Kingdom, rides like
"it's a small world," Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress, and
Under the Sea - Journey of the Little Mermaid offer plenty of seated downtime. At Animal Kingdom,
Festival of the Lion King and
Finding Nemo: The Big Blue... and Beyond! will give you some comfy show breaks too.
I hope this answers your question, Rachel, and please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help you plan your magical vacation!
