I'm from Saudi Arabia and i wanted to know is it possible to get an annual pass as i am not a US resident? if yes, would i be able to purchase it before arriving to the US to get resort discounts? Thank you

Hello, Wajd. Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question.

I have been an Annual Passholder for years and love all of the discounts that are available with the program. Discounts on Walt Disney World Resort Hotel Rooms is a big benefit and I see why that is so appealing to you. Sometimes Annual Passholders can save up to 40% on select resorts, it's incredible! Since I typically drive to the Walt Disney World Theme Parks, the free parking is priceless to me and everyone loves the addition of the Memory Maker. Having photopass photographers taking your family pictures throughout the Walt Disney World Theme Parks and having attraction photos show up in your MyDisneyExperience app straight on your phone is such a great perk.

I think you'll be happy to know that, typically, as an international Guest you would be able to purchase an Annual Pass. To get the resort discounts before visiting and activating your pass, you would just need to link it to your MyDisneyExperience account. However, because of the pandemic, the sale of new Annual Passes has been temporarily suspended. I don't think the program is going anywhere, however, because Guests with active Annual Passes that are about the expire are being allowed to renew. Also, Guests that canceled their passes during the shut down last year about being able to purchase new passes. I see that your trip is planned for July so keep checking back for ticket sale updates.

While for the time being, you aren't able to purchase an Annual Pass, Wajd, you can still purchase Walt Disney World Theme Park Tickets for your trip. Once you have those, you can link them to your MyDisneyExperience account and start planning your trip. To visit the Walt Disney World Theme Parks, currently, Guests must make Park Pass Reservations. This is basically like making an advance reservation for what park you'd like to visit on what day. If you purchase a ticket with the Park Hopper options, know that you still will need to make Park Pass Reservations for an initial park on the day/days you wish to park hop. Then, you'll need to visit and scan into that park. Park hopping begins at 2:00 p.m. and then you can visit any of the other Walt Disney World Theme Parks based on capacity limitations.

If you go ahead and purchase Walt Disney World Theme Park Tickets and the sale of Annual Passes opens back up before your trip, you can upgrade those tickets no problem and if a promotion is currently running, you'll be able to switch your reservation to that deal. I hope this helps, Wajd. If you have any other questions before your trip, I'd love to help.

    Have fun!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
