I'm running the WDW half in Jan. In using Jeff Galloway's training of the run-walk method, how do you pace yourself? Run a mile, walk a mile- what's a good pace to use when training? Any good apps to use for training on a phone?

    Hi Anne!

I LOVE Jeff Galloway's method!  The beauty of it is that you can customize it for yourself and your level.

I usually do run/walk intervals by time.  Sometimes I run 3 minutes, walk 1 minute.  Other times, I run 1.5 minutes and walk 30 seconds.  You can vary it as much as you would like.  Your pace will depend on you.  You can find some resources for determining a good pace on Jeff's website.  Copy and past this address into your browser:

There are a ton of apps for your phone.  RunKeeper, Interval Run and Nike + are a few that I have used.  If you search Jeff Galloway in the app store, he even has his own apps that you can use to train for specific distances.   I use Interval Run to mark my intervals.  It beeps when I need to switch from running to walking and vice versa.  I have a Nike GPS watch, so I use that to mark my distance.  A lot of the apps (ex. RunKeeper) have the ability to track your distance using the GPS in your phone, and also have interval timers.

I hope this helps!  Please let me know if you have any other questions.
