Bright Suns, Eric, and welcome to planDisney! It sounds like your travels through the galaxy will bring you to the Disneyland Resort for the
Star Wars-themed Disneyland 10K on February 1. How exciting!
Let's start with costume guidelines for your runDisney race. Make sure no part of your Jedi ensemble drags on the ground. After all, we wouldn't want you or any others to trip while evading Imperial Forces! Also, keep in mind that capes shouldn't go past the waist, and participants ages 14 and older may not wear masks. There are
other policies to follow, which you can check out ahead of the Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend.
Eric, spending the day in the parks is a great way to celebrate a successful race! Make sure you have purchased your theme park ticket and secured your reservation in advance. As far as what you wear for your visit, the
Disneyland Resort Dress Code states that Guests ages 14 and older are not permitted to wear costumed attire in the theme parks, outside of special events. While your tunic may be generic enough to not be considered a costume, it is hard to say for sure. The Cast Members at the park would have final discretion on that decision. However, the Disney Parks Blog
published an article about "bounding" back when Galaxy's Edge first opened. It even has photos that may give you more guidance.
As those in the Resistance know, it's always good to have a plan. One option is to bring a second set of clothing as a backup if you are asked to change your attire. There are
locker rentals just outside the main entrance where you can store any spare items and restrooms where you can make a quick change.
You'll surely be hungry after the big race, and there's no better place to refuel than
Ronto Roasters in
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. I especially love the Ronto-less Garden Wrap and the Meiloorun Juice. If you need a boost of energy, head to
Docking Bay 7 for the Cold Brew Black Caf, a local favorite topped with sweet cream cheese and chocolate puffs!
I hope your Half Marathon weekend is a galactic experience. May the Force be with you, Eric!
