Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Paulina! I ran the inaugural Dark Side Half Marathon races with my brother, and so was proud of him when he finished the Dark Side Challenge!
Sadly, I spoke with some
runDisney representatives, and although the
Disney Springs Resorts offer their own transportation to the parks, only Walt Disney World Property Resorts are planned to offer both Expo and Race-Day transportation. I would highly recommend staying at a Disney property resort, such as
Disney's Art of Animation Resort, Disney's Pop Century Resort or even the Beach and Yacht Club Resorts. These will for sure offer transportation for all your race needs. When I’m running the races, I like to board my buses between 3:45-4am. This allows me to wake up at 3:25, don all my race gear I’ve set out in the bathroom and sneak out without disturbing my family. I then have plenty of time to wait for a bus (if needed) and explore the race village near the Epcot parking lot (this is where the races start) before I’m called out to the corrals. You’ll be surprised how much time flies by in the race village between costume exploring, character meet & greets, potty breaks and more. Plus, you don’t want to miss the buses, or you won’t make the start line! I know plenty of people that have waited to board and missed their corral. Always try to be early, and if you’re worried about morning chill while you wait, pre-purchase those tiny space blankets that unfold to full size. They are fabulous wrapped around your waist!
If I can help you with any other race-cation questions, please let me know. Ready, set, MAGIC! ~ Lindsey P.
