I'm running the Princess Half Marathon in Feb (my first ever!) and will be staying off site. I see that the race starts at 5:30 am at Epcot. I'll be driving there myself. Where can I park and what time do I need to be there?

    Hi Nicole!

Congratulations on choosing to run a half marathon!  The Princess Half was my first half in 2009, and I believe it is the perfect first race for everyone!

This is a great question.  Technically, they will tell you to be in your corral by 5 a.m.  But, don't plan on getting to Epcot at 5 a.m.

I have stayed off property before for this race, and I made sure I left in enough time to get to the Epcot parking lot BY 3:30 a.m.   I know this sounds really early.....and it is!  But, after about 4:00, the traffic gets really, really bad.  You don't want to get yourself in that before your first race.  Plus, there will be plenty of music, excitement, and fun going on when you get there.  People will start rolling in as early as 3 a.m., and runDisney will be ready for them!  I love getting there in enough time to sit and eat my breakfast, dance to the DJ's music, and get relaxed before heading over to my corral.

You will be receiving instructions closer to your race weekend with parking directions and road closures.  (Because of road closures, a GPS route doesn't always work)  The parking will be in the Epcot parking lot.

I hope this helps!  Please let me know if you have any other questions.
