I'm running the Princess Half in Feb. Curious what your experience has been about visiting parks and doing a lot of walking before or after your race. Did you visit parks the day before or after your race or on race day? Were you too sore for more walking

    Hi Nicole!

This is a question that I get quite a bit.  So, I actually posted about it on the runDisney blog.  Definitely check that out if you get a chance!

As I say in the blog piece, I much prefer to visit the parks after a race.  There are many reasons, but mostly, it comes down to being more relaxed.  I always get a bit nervous before a race!  Plus, one of the things I love about the Disney Parks is all of the food!!  If it's before a race, I have to watch what I eat, but if it's after, then I can be more adventurous!  I can also stay up later:)

Yes, I am always a little sore after the event.  (sometimes, a LOT sore!)   But, walking around the parks is actually a great way to loosen up your tight muscles.  I always feel much better if I am active the day after a race, than if I just sit around all day.

I hope this helps answer your question!  Please let me know if you have any others.
