    I'm running the 1/2 marathon in Jan & have booked the Beach Club. Will that be a marathon host hotel? Also, I've heard you can walk to EPCOT & with a Hopper, you can use the monorail to get to MK. Is this true? IF so, how long is the walk - we'll b

    I hope you are looking forward to the Walt Disney World® Half Marathon. January will be here in no time! And you've made a great choice by selecting Disney's Beach Club Resort as your accommodations - it's my favorite, especially for a race weekend. You'll also be happy to know it is considered a host resort for this event, so all your transportation needs to race activities will be covered.

    With regard to traveling to Magic Kingdom from Disney's Beach Club Resort, your best option is to take resort theme park bus transportation directly to Magic Kingdom. While having a park hopper pass will allow you to walk through Epcot to access its Monorail Station, you will add considerable travel time. In addition to having to go through bag-check at Epcot's International Gateway, you can expect about a 30 minute walk through parts of World Showcase and Future World just to get to the front, where you will then have to exit Epcot to get to the Monorail Station. Once the Monorail arrives, you will be transported to the Transportation and Ticket Center where you will then need to transfer to the Express Monorail to Magic Kingdom, as the Monorail does not go directly between Epcot and Magic Kingdom. Once you arrive at Magic Kingdom you will then need to go through bag-check again. The bus is definitely the way to go.
