I’m running the half marathon in January 2019, and I’ve signed up my kids to run the kid races afterwards. Will the end of the half be anywhere near the kid races? I’m expecting to be finished running in 2-2.5 hours, so kids will run at 10:00? Too close?

    Hi Stephanie,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us a question! I recently ran the Princess Half Marathon through Walt Disney World Resort and it was absolutely the most magical race experience ever! You’re going to love your runDisney experience in January at the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend.

Based on my experience, almost all runDisney races end in the Epcot parking lot, and this is especially true for the half marathon and marathon distances. The kids’ races, on the other hand, take place at the ESPN Wild World of Sports Complex, which is a bus ride away (there should be a bus that will take you directly there from Epcot, after your race).

My advice to you would be to check the start times for your kids’ races. If they’re less than an hour after your anticipated finish time for your half marathon, then I think you might be cutting it a bit close. Your best bet would be to contact runDisney in order to see what your options are for race day.

Good luck and have fun conquering those 13.1 miles! Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions about your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World Resort.

    Have a Magical Day,

    Lynne
