I'm running the Disney World Marathon, & my extended family & I are planning on visiting the parks the few days following the marathon. How busy is it during that time? Is it a nightmare with parking, as we are planning on staying off-site & pa

    Hi, Tara!

Congratulations on your decision to participate in the 2015 Walt Disney World Marathon! I hope you are excited to tackle the 26.2 most magical miles on earth.

While actual crowd levels can be somewhat hard to predict, I can tell you they are estimated to be quite low in the days following Marathon Weekend, making it a wonderful time to plan a runDisney race-cation.

With regard to parking for the race when staying off-property, you shouldn't have any trouble provided you plan ahead and arrive early, as traffic can really back up if you cut it too close to race time. Plan on arriving at the Epcot parking lot by 3:45am-- you can sit in your car and relax, enjoy a small breakfast and then head over to the Start Zone Area by 4:15. This will allow you to get through bag-check and use the restroom without getting anxious over time. I know this seems early, but there will be 25,000+ participants and it's a 20 minute walk from the Start Zone to the corrals.

I hope you find this information helpful, Tara! And please do not hesitate to ask me any additional questions you may have.

    Have a great race!
