I'm really interested in taking my family to a dessert party at Walt Disney World. My son is on a gluten-free diet because of celiac disease, and my daughter has peanut and tree nut allergies. Will they find enough treats to eat at a party?

    Hi Ellen,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us another question.

I’ve attended most of the dessert parties offered at Walt Disney World Resort. Based on my experience and what I know about the treats that are offered there, while accommodating your daughter’s allergies would be relatively simple, things might be a little bit tougher for your son because of how many of the treats are wheat-based.

What I would recommend would be to send the Special Dietary Requests team an email at Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com in order to get a better sense of what would be available during your visit and to get a sense of which dessert party might provide the best experience for your family during your upcoming visit.

For what it’s worth, my favourite is the Fireworks Dessert Party with Plaza Garden Viewing at Magic Kingdom Park. It’s the easiest (and tastiest!) way to get an excellent spot for viewing Happily Ever After. Plus, offhand, I can think of several treats that your son would be able to enjoy, including ice cream, fruit, cheese and possibly even some macarons for him to enjoy.

    Have a Magical Day,

    Lynne
