I'm really having a hard time making a decision about my resort! I have made our reservation at AKL but I have read a lot of great reviews about WL. We will be going Dec. 1-6...DS8 and DD5. Is the convience to MK and CMas Decor worth staying at WL? Thnx!

    Hello, Danielle,

This is a mighty tough question to answer!  Both of the resorts offer similar amenities and room layouts/size. Also, both are wonderfully decorated over the holidays.  However, I have to confess that I personally like the Wilderness Lodge during that time of year. I'm partial to the cozy rocking chairs in front of the fireplace in the lobby (as well as the "hidden" fireplace and reading area above the front entrance). For me, the feeling of being in a giant log cabin just feels more like Christmas. Since your children are younger, you may also like the closer proximity to the Magic Kingdom; it is often the park that guests visit more than once.

However, if you decide to stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge please know that it will be equally as wonderful with its holiday decorations and wow-factor.  I don't know of anywhere else aside from Africa where guests can have giraffes and zebras outside of their balcony.

To help with your decision making, you can do a Google Image search for Wilderness Lodge Christmas and Animal Kingdom Lodge Christmas. You should find an abundance of images to show you what the resorts look like and which best matches your personal preferences.

Thank you for the question; please let us know if we can help further.
