I’m really confused I have a Disney park reservation for Magic Kingdom for NYE 2022 I also have a reservation for Be our Guest for dinner. I wasn’t planning on heading into the park until later but is there a possibility I may not get in if it’s full?

Hey Howdy Hey Lee and welcome to planDisney!

You are in for a real treat ringing in the new year Disney style with your park reservation for Magic Kingdom on New Year's Eve! Thank you for stopping by with your question on theme park availability for your day in the parks. I will be happy to give you a little more insight to help set your expectations for your evening.

Historically the weeks surrounding Christmas and New Year's have been some of the busiest weeks in Walt Disney World Resort. In the past, it was difficult for some to get access to the parks and once the parks hit capacity, this left a lot of Guests waiting outside for their chance to get in if any theme park goers wanted a break or to hop to another park. This issue has recently changed because of Theme Park Reservations. As you noted, when you make your purchase of theme park tickets, you also have to make reservations for the parks you want to visit. With this extra step, Disney knows approximately how many Guests to plan for and once capacity is hit with theme park reservations, no one else may be allowed to make further reservations. So as long as you have your reservation, you should be allowed in regardless of time because you are on the list of expected Guests. I would not worry about being turned away at the entrance as in days past and you should be perfectly fine to get a little extra rest for the night's festivities ringing in the new year!

I am sure you are well aware of many of the night's celebrations around Magic Kingdom for the new year but I just wanted to make sure you have plenty of time to get your seats for the fireworks. Looking at the Park Calendar, Fantasy in the Sky Fireworks are scheduled to start at 11:50 PM EST on December 31st. Nobody does nighttime shows like Walt Disney World and this show is second to none! Make sure to get your seats early as the hub in front of Cinderella Castle will fill up quickly for this Magical celebration!

I hope this helps ease your concerns about your ability to get into the theme parks on New Year's Eve. Please feel free to stop back with any questions you may have, we are always happy to help!

    Have a Magical Day,
