You’re correct that Walt Disney World no longer requires reservations for date-based tickets (that’s the most common type of ticket).
Other types of tickets—such as student group tickets, sports or convention tickets, Disney Military Salute tickets, or an annual pass—still require theme park reservations, but there is no way to make reservations unless it’s required by your ticket type.
The good news is that you shouldn’t have any issue visiting the theme parks you want on the days you want. While it’s true that theme park tickets are subject to capacity limits and availability, in my experience it’s rare for the Walt Disney World theme parks to reach capacity during the time of year you’ll be visiting. Capacity issues usually arise around major holidays, like New Year’s Eve and the Fourth of July.
So you should be good to go! Don’t hesitate to call the
