I'm pregnant so I know I won't be able to do the Smugglers Run ride, but is it possible to be part of the Smugglers Run 'walkthrough' experience leading up to the actual ride?

Hi there, Katherine, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! First off, congratulations on your pregnancy! I can’t think of a better place to celebrate than at the Happiest Place on Earth!

I was lucky enough to travel to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and the planet of Batuu this weekend, and participate in a smuggling mission for Hondo Ohnaka aboard Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run! It was a thrilling adventure full of excitement and thrills! As you mentioned, there is an Expectant Mother’s Advisory for this attraction, so pregnant women are advised not to ride. However, I checked with a Cast Member who’s familiar with Hondo Ohnaka and his rules, and he let me know that you are more than welcome to be part of the walk-through experience if you’d like to. You would simply go through the queue as you normally would, but when it comes time to join a flight crew, when you’re asked how many are in your crew, you’d let the Cast Member know that you won’t be riding. That way, you can still stand with the rest of your flight crew until they board. Then, a Cast Member would show you the path toward the exit when that time comes.

One of my favorite parts of this attraction is the standby queue itself -- it’s interactive, thanks to the Play Disney Parks app, so you can still be part of the mission even if you’re unable to ride it at this time. You’re going to love spending time in the ship’s main hold and lounge, where you can even sit at the famous chess table while you wait for your group’s flight crew to be called. Even standing in the hallways feels magical… you’ll truly feel like you’re a part of a Star Wars movie!

I recommend staying well-hydrated throughout your Disney days by stopping by any quick-service restaurant and asking for a complimentary cup of ice water… we did that several times this past weekend, and it was a great way to cool off!

Also, be sure to catch the Main Street Electrical Parade, currently scheduled for 8:40 PM and 10:45 PM on your day of arrival

Wishing you a magical and comfortable getaway to the Disneyland Resort this August, and may the Force be with you!
