Julie from MI Asked Note: This answer was provided prior to the change to planDisney and may still contain references to Disney Parks Moms Panel.

I'm planning a WDW trip for my family of 4 (kids are 8 and 11). I've never been so I'm a little overwhelmed. Staying off resort. We have 4 days to go to parks. What are the must see or dos? Where do I start? Will be busy I know.

    Hi Julie,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! How exciting to be planning your first trip to the Walt Disney World Resort! There are a few planning tools that I like to suggest first. Be sure that you create a My Disney Experience account. Once you do so, you can link your Dining Reservations and Fast Pass+ Reservations for rides and attractions.  You will need to link your park tickets to your My Disney Experience account to be able to make your Fast Pass+ reservations in advance. You can make your Fast Pass+ reservations up to 30 days in advance. Doing so will save you wait time in lines.

Since you only have four days, I suggest that you visit all four theme parks and do one park per day. My girls are 10-years old and love the Star Wars Experiences at Hollywood Studios. In particular, they have enjoyed Jedi Training - Trials of the Temple. To sign-up for Jedi Training, you must get to the park before it opens and then run (if possible) to the sign-up location which currently is at the Indiana Jones Adventure Outpost. Your children must be with you to register.

When booking Fast Passes, I have also learned to book dining reservations near our Fast Pass locations so that we are not trekking across the park just to eat.

Some of our other must-do rides are Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, Test Track, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, and Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain.

    I hope this helps!
