Hi I'm planning on going to WDW with my husband for a late honeymoon (2 year anniv). I want to stay at all star movies that i stayed at as a kid, either mighty duck or 101 dolm. room. Is it worth it to get a preferred room or is standard better?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Jessica!

Happy anniversary! I can’t imagine a more fun celebration than a visit to the Walt Disney World Resort. And though it’s not known for being a romantic destination, there is definitely tons of romance to be found throughout the parks and resorts. I hope this visit is an unforgettably, magically-romantic one with loads of wedding-bell pixie dust!

Preferred rooms at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort will be located in the buildings closest to the main building with the bus stops, Cinema Hall Lobby & Food Court, and recreation areas like the main pool. The 101 Dalmatians buildings are considered a preferred room location, but the Mighty Ducks buildings are not. If your heart is set on a specific building, I would be sure to book the correct room-type and call in to request that building. With a honeymoon celebration, I’m sure the Cast Members can make a little magic for you!

Here are some additional details about preferred rooms from my fellow panelist Todd.

Have you booked a special celebration meal during your stay? I recently had dinner at California Grill on top of Disney’s Contemporary Resort and wow! What a treat! Not only was the meal extraordinary, but the views were unbeatable. If you plan it right, you can even enjoy dinner with a show as you watch Magic Kingdom’s fireworks fly through the windows. They even pipe in the music! You can also add even more pixie dust to your meal with a special customized cake. I bet that would be a sweet ending to a magical evening!

Wishing you many magical honeymoon moments during your stay, Emille
