Hey there, Jennifer. Welcome to
planDisney!
My family and I have visited
Walt Disney World for Christmas for the past 10+ years. I absolutely love it. The theme parks are all dressed up in their holiday best and it is so festive and fun!
Jennifer, there isn't a particular calendar date as to when the holiday decorations go up and come down. However, from my past experience as soon as the clock strikes 12 on Halloween night you'll notice a lot of changes at
Magic Kingdom Park. The team works tirelessly through the night and when the theme park opens to Guests on November 1st, it's the merriest time of the year! The first week after Halloween is when you are going to notice the most changes throughout the Walt Disney World Theme Parks and Resort Hotels and by Thanksgiving, everything holiday decor-wise will be in full swing.
I was just at Walt Disney World a few weeks ago, the first week of November, and already Magic Kingdom Park and Disney's Hollywood Studios were decked out. The life-size gingerbread house at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa was assembled and so was the gingerbread carousel at Disney's Beach Club Resort. There were so many holly-jolly things to spot around, it truly was incredible.
Decorations will then last throughout the holiday season and then sometime during the first week of January start to come down. I think a trip anytime in the month of November or December would be a perfect time for you to visit since you are interested in the decorations. However, if you waited until mid-Novemberish everything will be practically perfect.
I hope this helps, Jennifer. If you have any other questions about this, please feel free to stop back by and
ask me. I'm here to help.
Happy holidays!
Jackie H.
