Hi Ajipal,
We're so happy you found your way to planDisney with your question. With February just around the corner, you must be counting down the days to your visit to the Happiest Place on Earth!
My first stop when planning a
Disneyland Resort vacation is to check out the park hours and events schedule on the website, which typically is released six weeks ahead of time. The calendar is currently updating, but check back in a day or two by navigating to the "Tickets & Parks" tab along the top navigation bar and selecting "See All Hours & Events Calendar" on the right-hand side. This will help you get a lay of the land in terms of what time the parks will open and close and showtimes for parades, nighttime spectaculars, or any special events that may be taking place during your visit. Information for your park dates should open up within the next few days.
Knowing the park opening and closing times helps to establish the bookends for your days. If you know you want to also catch a show or nighttime spectacular, that starts to give your park day some structure, so now let's chat about how to fill in the rest of the time with a little magic!
If your six year old is like mine and loves princesses, there are several ways to have her feel like the belle of the ball. The
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in Disneyland Park offers royal transformations that are truly one-of-a-kind. Your daughter will be treated like a princess with her very own Fairy Godmother In Training or Coachman guiding her through a royal make-over. What I love about the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is that there are several packages available so the slipper fits all budgets from the simpler Carriage Package which includes make up, face gems, a special cinch sack and hairstyle to the Deluxe Package with a head to toe transformation, including a gown and all the accessories. You're also welcome to bring a dress you already own from home. Don't forget to ask for a little pixie dust yourself on the way out!
Another fun activity to add to your itinerary is character dining. If you want to stick to the princess theme, the
Disney Princess Breakfast Adventures at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel and Spa is one of the most immersive character experiences offered. Guests will not only meet and greet with princesses, but will get to interact with them in ways not offered in the parks - activities are subject to change but typically Belle hosts a story time for young Guests while Mulan teaches a lesson in warrior poses. If you want to balance out your princess experiences and are looking to dine with classic favorites like
Mickey, Minnie, or Goofy and friends, there are other options as well. This is quite a pixie-dusted way to start your day, especially with the all-you-care-to-enjoy Mickey waffles!
Reservations can be made for enchanting extras and dining up to 60 days in advance, so you are in the booking window. I highly recommend looking to see if there is availability sooner rather than later and making note of the cancelation windows. Often times, I will grab a reservation and then decide closer to my park day if I will keep it or release it.
Ajipal, I also recommend following the
Disneyland Resort Instagram account for all the latest and greatest news ahead of your trip!
Magic awaits,
Tara
