Hi I’m planning a vacation for Walt Disney world in April 2025. If I book now, then later in the year a promotion that would make my trip cheaper appears can I apply it to my existing reservation?

Hey Howdy Hey Jessica and welcome to planDisney!

I am so excited to hear that you are in the being stages of planning your trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth next year! Thank you for stopping by with your question on Special Offers. I will be happy to give you more information on applying these to your trip if this happens.

Many people are in your situation, Jessica. Planning for a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort typically involves months if not years of planning. Special Offers, when they do come up, typically apply a few months after they are released which you may already find yourself with a trip booked. If you do notice that the special offer does include a reservation you currently hold, you are more than welcome to have this offer applied to your vacation. There are 2 ways to have this done.

The first way to apply this Special Offer to your vacation is in your My Disney Experience account. Once you log in, you will go to the "My Plans, Reservations and Tickets" section. You should see your reservation and to the right of it a blue hyperlink to "Modify Reservation". You would click on that and then search for your same travel details. Under your hotel accommodation selection, you should see an option between the overview on top and the details of the room options and any current promotions you may qualify for. You will select the promotion and then continue to select your room accommodations and theme park tickets. This will take you to a screen to show you the updated details and pricing and then ask you to confirm the modification. Once you do, you should have the updated price with the Special Offer applied!

Your other option will be to ask for the help of a Cast Member to have this updated for you. You can feel free to call Disney and speak to a Cast Member about applying the Special Offer to your current reservation. As long as there is availability, they will be able to get this done for you in no time!

All Special Offers usually have limited availability per resort on the number of rooms that may qualify. So if you do hear about a Special Offer that your trip qualifies for, make sure you have this applied sooner rather than later. The best place to learn about Special Offers is over at the Disney Parks Blog where they are usually announced or on the Special Offers page.

I hope this helps give you some peace of mind as you move through the next steps of booking your trip. If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out and let us know, we are always happy to help!

    Have a Magical day,

    Nick
