Hi, I’m planning an upcoming trip to Disneyland from east coast & I saw on the website that the holiday parade is coming back in mid Nov thru the beginning of Jan. does this mean the Paint the Night won’t be running? Really want to see paint the night.

    Hi Liz,

Welcome back to planDisney! Thank you so much for continuing to trust us with your Disney vacation planning. We love helping guests like you make the most of every magical moment.

Disneyland Resort is truly pulling out all the stops for its 70th anniversary celebration, with seven spectacular new entertainment offerings! Some of these are beloved returning favorites, while others are brand new – it’s such an exciting time to visit! As you mentioned, the return of Paint the Night is a major highlight. It was a huge hit when it first debuted and remains a fan favorite to this day.

Looking ahead, The Holidays Begin at Disneyland from November 14, 2025, to January 7, 2026. During this time, the 70th anniversary entertainment will pause, and the parks will transform into a festive winter wonderland. Over at California Adventure, you’ll also get to experience the Festival of Holidays, a seasonal celebration full of cultural traditions, food, and entertainment.

And while it might feel like a bit of a "Bibbidi Bobbidi bummer" to miss the anniversary shows, I promise the holiday entertainment is absolutely magical. A holiday must-do is the Christmas Fantasy Parade. It’s magical both during the day and under the twinkling evening lights. If you’re used to Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade at Walt Disney World, you’ll enjoy a fresh experience on the West Coast!

Pro tip: I love watching the parade near “it’s a small world”. You can see the beautiful lighting ceremony, be in a great spot for the parade, and then enjoy “Believe… In Holiday Magic” fireworks from the same location! As an extra treat, “it’s a small world” Holiday often has shorter wait times after the fireworks and you will be in the perfect place to hop in line!

I hope this helps with your planning, Liz! I’m confident your holiday vacation will be full of joy and pixie dust. If you have any more questions or need planning tips, feel free to reach out to me or any of my fellow planDisney panelists. We’re always happy to help make your Disneyland dreams come true.

We wish you a merry trip, and a Happy New Year!
