Hi! I’m planning my upcoming trip to Disney but can’t seem to figure out the best way to park hop between AK & MK. I’m not sure if it’s faster to drive between parks or use bus transportation. Planning to go to AK for opening then MK in the afternoon.

    Hi Elline!
    Welcome to planDisney.

Thank you for sending us this question!

If you are staying at a Disney Resort hotel, buses will start running from your hotel to Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park around 45 minutes before park opening.

For park hopping between Disney's Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom Park, I would definitely opt for using Disney Transport.  Buses will take you between the parks, and the bus stops at Magic Kingdom Park are located close to the park entrance.   If you choose to drive, you will be required to park at the Transportation and Ticket Center, then take a parking tram to either the monorail or ferryboat, which will take you across Seven Seas Lagoon to the park entrance - adding much more time to your journey.

Even if you decide it might be quicker to use a rideshare to travel between the two parks, the rideshare is still required to drop you at the Transportation & Ticket Center.  The only vehicles permitted to drop at the entrance to Magic Kingdom Park are the Disney Minnie Vans.  You would be travelling in style using these vans - you'll see them driving around the resort with their distinct red and white livery!  You can book the Disney Minnie Vans on the Lyft app - you'll also see the prices before you make your booking.

Please come back and visit us if you have any further questions, and you can send me a direct question if you wish.  We will be happy to help you plan your magical vacation to Walt Disney World!
