Hi, I'm planning a trip to WDW from 7/1-7/9/13. Since from what I have read, it seems to be busy this time of year, can I book my vacation package now and add airline tickets to it later? We are still unsure if we want to drive or fly

    Hi Erika,

Yes, the first week of July is an extremely busy time of year at the Walt Disney World resort.

For now, I would book a room only reservation to reserve your first-pick resort. Then, when you decide on your transportation and/or when a package discount is released, you can modify your reservation to a package with airfare and/or tickets, dining plan, etc.

I often find it much less expensive to book airfare on my own rather than getting it through a package. You'll have more control over flight times and be able to take advantage of airfare sales.

When we lived in PA, we often flew out of Baltimore or Philadelphia with deals on Southwest. We also drove from PA many times. From central PA, it took us 16 hours which we split up into two days.

If I can help any further, just let me know!
