    I'm planning a trip to WDW the first week in April. I'll be with my 1st grader and my 15yr old son. I'm concerned that he won't have as much fun as we girls will. Any advice?

    Hi Vickie! I see there is a large age difference between the two children but there are many great things that all ages can enjoy in the parks and then some that your son might enjoy by himself.

    Study the different attractions in each park and have each child write out a "must do" list for when they are there. Then take these lists and see if any overlap and plan your day where you can satisfy both children. If you feel comfortable letting your son enjoy an attraction by himself with a meeting location set up in advance you can also do this. In our family we have alternated doing attractions according to the kids wishes. If the little one can't or doesn't wish to do a roller coaster ride then your son can jump on while you sit and relax and maybe buy a great Mickey bar ice cream treat! It is a great time for the kids to learn how to cooperate as a family and give and take when it comes to their wishes.  And there are so many great attractions that both will enjoy that I think they will forget their age differences quite fast.  Everyone will enjoy Mickey's PhilharMagic or the Muppets 3-D! And the great Safari ride in Animal Kingdom will appeal to all ages as you watch the animals in a natural setting.

    When you are deciding to make dining reservations use the same plan as above. Have each child tell you their culinary wishes whether it is steak or pizza and alternate your dining accordingly.  It is fun and keeps everyone happy and they feel a big part in the planning of the vacation. And it is okay to stick something in that you wish to do once in a while too!!
