I’m planning a trip with my teen daughter, her best friends & their moms. I’m on disability, ruptured disc in my back, blood pressure & heart rate issues, so I’m going to need a scooter. What do I need to do & will it affect my group?

    Howdy Emily!

Welcome to planDisney!  Thank you for sharing this great question with us!

Mickey has thought about everything to ensure that most guests can “Make Memories to Last a Lifetime” during their Walt Disney World Resort visit!  I have great news for you!  You will be able to rent an ECV at each theme park entrance!  I have placed a link in the highlighted text above so you can scan through all the details and current pricing!

The Disability Access Service is designed for guests who cannot tolerate extended waits in a conventional queue due to health issues!  Now that the Genie is out of the bottle, you will be able to contact a Cast Member via video chat to pre-register for this service.  You will need to pre-register between 30 days before your visit and no later than two days before your first theme park day!  During your registration, the Cast Member will ensure that this is the best option for your visit!

If you are set up to utilize the Disability Access Service, you will be able to arrange attraction return times through your My Disney Experience!  Make sure to have everyone in your party linked as family and friends in your My Disney Experience mobile app!  By linking everyone in the app, your party will be able to experience the attractions with you!  Once your Disability Access Service is arranged with the Cast Member via video chat, the Cast Member will be able to schedule your first two attractions for your party on your first theme park day.  Once you arrive in the theme park after you have experienced your first two attractions, you will be able to open up your My Disney Experience mobile app and schedule your following attractions, and so on.  You can continue planning return times for the entire duration of your vacation!

If you cannot schedule the video chat, you can speak with a Cast Member at Guest Relations at the entrance of each theme park for help with the Disability Access Service.  The Cast Member will ask a few questions to ensure that your party is linked so that you can make attraction return times during your visit.  If you wait until you enter the theme parks to seek this exceptional service, the Cast Member will be able to arrange your first attraction return time.

Since you will be visiting with a large party, I recommend adding Memory Maker to your vacation!  I know your daughter and friends will love all the mini photo sessions throughout the Walt Disney World Resort!  The Disney PhotoPass Photographers do a fantastic job of capturing unforgettable moments in each picture!  My favorite part of Memory Maker is that you can capture an unlimited amount of photos at one great price, and everyone can be in the photo!

Take a moment to regularly scan through the Disney Parks Blog to learn about everything you see and do during your vacation!  As you continue to plan your visit to Neverland, if you have any more questions, please come back to planDisney!  We are always here to help with all your planning questions to make your vacation unforgettable, Emily!
