I'm planning a trip this summer to Disneyland. I choose to eat gluten free due to an medical condition. When I'm asked if it is an allergy or preference, I'm not sure of the difference. Cross contact is not an issue for me. So preference?

    Aloha, Kathleen!

Thank you for visiting planDisney this week!

The Disneyland Resort takes excellent care of Guests with allergies or special dietary needs. Every chef at the parks and hotels is prepared to discuss the menu, so you should have no problem finding delicious dishes to enjoy.

If you really want to avoid gluten items, it's okay to say that you want to order from the gluten-free menu. In that case, I don't see a problem in checking the box that says that you'd rather have your food prepared as if you had a gluten allergy.

If you want to have more options and consider other dishes, you can also discuss the menu with your servers or the chef and state your current dietary restriction as a preference.

You'll have fantastic meals at the Disneyland Resort either way, and I'm very excited about your upcoming adventure!

May the magic be with you,

    Julie
