I'm planning my trip for runDisney's 2024 Princess 5k and would like to schedule some park days. Does Festival of the Arts always end on President's Day?

Hi Rochelle! Thanks for reaching back out to us at planDisney. We always love it when Guests come back to ask us their Disney vacation questions. So keep them coming!

Wow! You're doing the Disney Prince Half Marathon? So exciting! It's on my bucket list to complete a race through runDisney, but I'm not much of a runner. In fact, if you see me run, you should probably be running too as there's likely an emergency taking place somewhere nearby! I'm a swimmer, but since they probably won't be building a pool the length of Main Street, U.S.A. in Magic Kingdom Park any time soon (or ever), I should probably register for a runDisney race and start to train. I'm sure you'd have a lot of great tips for me on how to be the most successful. If there's any place I'd like to run a race, it's the Walt Disney World Resort, that's for sure! I mean, I've already got "speed-walking with purpose" during rope drop down to a science! So as Tiana would say, I'm almost there. Right?

The EPCOT International Festival of the Arts usually begins in January and ends in February. While there have been times it has ended on Presidents' Day, there have also been times it has ended after Presidents' Day! Truthfully, we never know for sure until the dates are announced, so I would stay tuned to the Disney Parks Blog for any announcements that may pop up about the 2024 dates as your race approaches. And if the festival isn't running during your race weekend, there are plenty of places to grab a snack or a meal to carb-load before and after racing (or, in my case, speed-walking with purpose!).

Since you're visiting in early 2024, there should be a few new experiences for you to look forward to besides your big race. The EPCOT transformation is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2023 with the highly-anticipated interactive walkthrough attraction Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana. Of course, I'm in it for the food and can't wait for The Cake Bake Shop Restaurant by Gwendolyn Rogers at Disney's BoardWalk. If there's tea service at this location like there is in the other locations of this restaurant, I will likely make an advanced dining reservation for it every time I visit the resort! Carb-loading, right?

Rochelle, best wishes with your race, and I have my fingers crossed that this unique festival will still be running when you're there. Be sure to reach out to me if you have any other questions because while I may not be a runner, I will definitely go the distance to find those answers for you!

Our fate lives within us, you only have to be brave enough to see it,
    Matt
