I'm planning a trip for myself and my 8 yr old son during his spring break Mar 30- Apr 2nd. How busy are the parks during this time frame?

It is impossible to gauge the crowds from year to year due to school spring breaks changing as well as the Easter holiday.  During the time you mentioned you will encounter crowds but it will vary from park to park. If there is a large college age spring break crowd you will find them more at the parks such as EPCOT and Hollywood Studios.

The secret to the magic of Disney is to plan ahead for some reservations, get there, and then enjoy everything you can to its fullest.  It is impossible to see it all even if you were the only ones in the parks so prioritize the attractions and use the FAST PASS system.  Another hint is to make sure you check the extra magic hours for the parks during your stay. Use that time to return and enjoy the attractions that normally would have the longest lines during the day.

Be sure and get some dining reservations which can be made 90 days out from your arrival date.

I have vacationed at Disney the same time of year and had a wonderful time!
