I'm planning a trip for mysel (30), my boyfriend (38), and two children (17, 7). We want to do a park hopper pass, seaworld and the waterparks. We're planning our trip in June 2014. When is the best time to stay and which resort/hotel is the best for us?

    Hi Katrina!

Nothing wrong with getting an early jump on your vacation plans. It also makes life incredibly easier when you have that large window of opportunity to consider/plan things out :-)

The best time to go will be contingent on you and your family's interests. My family have went to Disney during the summer, off-season, and holidays, with each visit bringing its own flare of wonder and uniqueness.

I would probably say my most memorable times to go were during Christmas and any off-season visit. Traditionally, the slower periods are usually January-March, and then September-second week of November, with slightly higher crowds during holidays and weekends.

If you and family really get into Christmas, Disney World is the perfect place to be! I must admit it is SUPER busy then, but experiencing Disney World transformed into a Winter Wonderland is unlike anything you'll see...anywhere!

Off-season, however, generally comes at a cheaper rate and is usually when Disney put out Special Offers.

As for resorts, my family's favorites based on level would be:

    Value

    Art of Animation

    All-Star Movies

    Moderate

    Coronado Springs

    Deluxe

Contemporary (probably our family's all-time favorite)
    Animal Kingdom Lodge

(As you move from Value to Moderate to Deluxe, expect to pay anywhere between 20-30% more for each level you go up).

See you guys in 2 years!!
