Hi, I’m planning a trip for June 2024. I was wondering if we can purchase magic bands now or if we have to wait ten days before our trip. Also, when will tickets be available for June 2024?

Hey there, hi there, ho there, Ashlyn!

Thanks so much for visiting us again with another Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning question. You're as welcome as can be here at planDisney! Oh boy - I'm so excited to hear that you're getting a start on planning your visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth. I'm happy to help you plan for a magical and memorable vacation!

Ashlyn, room-only Disney Resort hotel reservations and vacation packages have not been released for 2024 arrivals quite yet. Historically, Guests have been able to book Walt Disney World Resort vacations for the next year beginning in late spring/early summer of the current year. (For example, last year, 2023 bookings were announced on May 18, 2022, and became available on June 8, 2022.) I encourage you to keep a close eye on the Disney Parks Blog for announcements about 2024 availability!

MagicBand+ offers Guests immersive and magical experiences during their Walt Disney World Resort vacations, Ashlyn. Not only will you be able to unlock the door to your Resort hotel room, charge purchases to your folio, and enter the theme parks with the tap of your wrist, but you'll be able to enjoy nighttime spectaculars in a dazzling new way! Did you know that Disney Resort hotel Guests can pre-order MagicBands at a discounted rate? Once you've booked your Resort hotel reservation, navigate to the "My MagicBands and Cards" tab in the My Disney Experience section of the Walt Disney World Resort website. Here, you'll see the option to pre-order MagicBands or MagicBand+ for all Guests on your Resort hotel reservation. Any MagicBand orders placed 11 or more days prior to your arrival will be shipped directly to your home, whereas MagicBand orders made 6-10 days prior to your arrival would be shipped to your Disney Resort hotel for pick-up at the Front Desk. After 5 days prior to your arrival, MagicBands can no longer be purchased via My Disney Experience, but are available for purchase at many retail locations throughout the Walt Disney World Resort!

Ashlyn, another option would be to order a MagicBand+ or MagicBand on shopDisney ahead of your visit - you'd just need to link your band to your Disney account before your trip. There are so many amazing themes and colors to choose from - the possibilities seem endless!

I'm wishing you the best with your vacation planning, Ashlyn. If there are any other ways we can help you prepare for your trip to the Walt Disney World Resort, please stop by planDisney again anytime - we're all ears!

    See ya real soon,

    Lauren
