Stacey, welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
I love Character Dining because it is such fun to interact with our favorite Disney characters without having to stand in line. I've had plenty of luck making dining reservations with less than 60 days notice. Of course, we usually spend 3 days in the parks which allow for flexibility of times. If there is a particular date and time you have in mind, say your child's actual birthday, making a dining reservation right at midnight can't hurt (especially if you're a night owl that works better when the children are tucked in bed!) Another tip would be to call Disney Dining at (714) 781-DINE and speak with a Cast Member for assistance if you do not find any date or time
online that suits you. I encountered a problem once when making a New Year's Eve Character Dining reservation, which also happens to be my son's actual birthday. The friendly Cast Member was able to find a table for us at a convenient time, and I was so glad I called.
Also, Disney Gift Cards can be used to pay for your meal as well!
I hope this information is helpful as you plan your upcoming trip to the Happiest Place on Earth. Please visit me on the Panel again if you have further questions.
chEARS,
Kiki
