I’m planning a trip January 3 rd-8 th will the Christmas decorations still be up? Any Christmas activities still going on

Welcome to planDisney, Amy! It's March and you are thinking about Christmas decorations? You are my kind of pal! Your question warms my heart.

Walt Disney World Resort Christmas decorations, seasonal treats, carols in the background... these are a few of my favorite things.

With your trip starting January 3 and going through January 8, you may witness the parks and resorts slowly returning to their year-round splendor. The timing changes each year, but on my trip this past January 5 through 8, I enjoyed a few sparkles from the season. Magic Kingdom Park had its Christmas tree still shining brightly. The theme parks had garlands on the buildings and lampposts, but the resorts were back to their usual grandeur. Most events were already stowed away until the season comes around again, but I was thrilled Jingle Cruise was still sailing with its jolly jokes.

I love the sights and the sounds of Christmas, and I also love the flavors! When I was there, the selection of holiday-themed treats was limited, but I enjoyed the peppermint white chocolate popcorn from Kernel Kitchen inside Main Street Confectionery. A taste of Christmas with a view of Cinderella Castle made the season last a little longer. If I remember correctly, the Confectionary also had a few seasonal selections still available, like the gingerbread Mickey Mouse cookies.

If you are looking for news about the upcoming holidays, you don't have to wait too long. Walt Disney World usually celebrates Halfway to the Holidays with announcements of the season to come. I always look to the Disney Parks Blog for articles like this Disney Eats Foodie Guide for Christmas from last year. Even if I can't enjoy them all, the dreams of sugar plums, gingerbread and peppermint all dance in my head.

I hope your trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth during the most wonderful time of the year is the start of an amazing 2025!

    Merry! Merry!
