I'm planning a trip for a family's first visit. Children will be 15 13 10 when arriving. I need advice on character dining and anything else that is a must. Also, any helpful little secrets tips when booking.

    Hi Sarah,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am so excited that you are taking your tween and teens to visit the Walt Disney World Resort. My girls are tweens and I love how we can really move through the parks now!

First, as soon as possible, start tracking vacation package pricing for your preferred resorts and room types. I always start making notes of pricing at the beginning of our planning process even if I have to choose other dates just so I can get an idea of what pricing is the year prior to our trip. Then, when Special Offers come available for our dates, I can tell which offers are the best value.

My girls love character dining experiences at Cinderella's Royal Table, Akershus Royal Banquet Hall (breakfast is AMAZING), 1900 Park Fare, The Crystal Palace and Chef Mickey's. We also adore 'Ohana for dinner although it is not currently a character experience at that time. We love to dine during the Happily Ever After fireworks at 'Ohana and, on one visit, we had a window table during the show. The view was spectacular!

Sarah, if you have not done so already, create a My Disney Experience account and download the My Disney Experience Mobile App. With My Disney Experience, you can link your vacation package, advanced dining reservations and Fast Pass+ selections. Another must-do - make Fast Pass+ selections 60 days in advance if staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel. My girls always help me plan the dining reservations and Fast Pass+ selections so that we are ready when our booking windows open for each of those. Reserve the most popular attractions first when making Fast Pass+ selections - Slinky Dog Dash, Avatar Flight of Passage and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train are a few!

Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
