I'm planning a trip for the end of September to the beginning of October. What are the crowds and weather like that time of year? Will the Wine and Food festival greatly affect the crowds in Epcot?

    Hi Mary!
September/October is a beautiful time of year to visit Walt Disney World, bit keep in mind that it USED to be a pretty uncrowded time to visit. As Disney adds more and more events, both in the parks and at places like ESPN Wide World of Sports, it is getting harder and harder to find a time of year that is light in terms of crowds. That said, the beginning of October is my faovrite time of year to go (along with December).
The weather can still be downright hot, with daytime temps still in the 90s or high 80s, and it is not uncommon for many days to have pop-up thunderstorms due to the humid air. But evenings can be very nice.
Finally, yes, crowds are greatly impacted by the Food & Wine Festival. There are certain areas of EPCOT where the walkways narrow (like Mexico) where it actually get difficult to move through. I love the Food & Wine festival for all that it offers, but you may want to pop over on a weekday versus a weekend day of yout trip.
I hope this helps, and I wish you a Magical stay this fall!! :)
