I'm planning our 1st trip to DW for October. Our plan is to fly in on Sat, hit 3 parks total -1 on Sun, 1 on Mon, and 1 on Tues. My children are 1 & 4. Are there other non-park things we can do on Sat and maybe even enough to do to stay an extra day (W

    Hello, Diane!

Your first trip to Walt Disney World! How exciting!

There are so many things to do that are not in a park at Walt Disney World, you could stay an entire week and still not get to all of them!

First of all, depending on where you're staying, your family may really enjoy a leisurely day by the pool. If you are staying at a Walt Disney World resort, there will surely be activities, dance parties, trivia contests and maybe even Movies Under the Stars. Let me know where you'll be staying and I can give you some tips for activities if it's a Disney resort.

In addition, we always like to head to Downtown Disney for a leisurely day or night, too. With shops, restaurants, pin trading, Lego building, a movie theater and the world's largest Disney Character store, there is plenty to do! No matter how many hours I allot for Downtown Disney, we always feel that we need a couple more.

Another non-park favorite of ours is to head to Chef Mickey's at Disney's Contemporary Resort. You don't need a park pass, but Chef Mickey and friends are there to greet you along with a very nice buffet. A dinner reservation at a resort restaurant in the Magic Kingdom area could even be followed by viewing Wishes from across Seven Seas Lagoon as well as watching the Electrical Water Pageant, too! You'll be glad you stayed.

Send me another question letting me know where you're staying and when you'll be in WDW, and I'll help you find some more specific activities for a non-park day (or days!) during your stay! I'd love to help!
