I’m planning a trip to Disneyland in 4 months. The park reservations are booked for that whole month. Should I still buy park tickets, and wait for a reservation to open up? Or will it be too late, if I wait for a reservation first.. then buy the tickets?

Hi there, Daylen, and welcome to planDisney! I'm thrilled to hear you're going to visit the Happiest Place on Earth this summer. It will be such a fun trip!

I'm thinking that I have good news for you. I'm looking on the Theme Park Reservation Calendar and it doesn't look like the July park reservations have all been booked, but rather that they just haven't been released yet! Theme park reservations typically open about four months out from the current date, so you'll continue to see dates open up closer to your arrival date throughout this month.

It's up to you whether to purchase theme park tickets now or wait another couple weeks when the reservations open up for the dates of your visit. However, I will say that there has seemed to be plenty of reservation availability in the parks the last few months - especially when booking a few months out!

During your visit, I would highly recommend making time to see the "Magic Happens" Parade. It recently returned to the parks and is amazing! Grab a churro and find your favorite parade viewing spot for this one (I like to sit near "it's a small world").

Thanks again for your question, Daylen! If you think of any follow-up questions as you continue to plan, please feel free to write me back directly.

    Have a Magical Day,
