I'm planning a trip to Disney World in 2019 and wondering if its allowed for my grandparents who are retired military to purchase our tickets and hotel with the military discount when they are not coming.

    Hi Dylan!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! 2019 is going to be a wonderful time to visit Walt Disney World Resort! A lot of Disney Resort Hotels are receiving room refreshments or redesigns, Toy Story Land will be in full swing, the Disney Skyliner project should be operational, and depending on your dates, you might be one of the first to experience the brand new Star Wars Land!

I'm an Air Force Wife and have purchased Disney's U.S. Military Promotional Tickets every year for the last seven years. These tickets do need to be activated once at Walt Disney World Resort by the Active Duty or Retired service member, or the service member's listed spouse, before their first use. A valid Military ID would also need to be presented at check-in of a Disney Resort Hotel to claim the discount. Technically your grandparents could join you in Florida for long enough to flash their Mil ID to verify the room rate and to activate the tickets, and they could do so without needing to step food in a theme park themselves.

If that's not going to be feasible, definitely check out the Special Offers, Deals & Discounts page where all current offers are listed. Check back often as new promotions are added all the time. Pro tip: I like to buy the slightly discounted Disney Gift Cards at warehouse club stores. I'll buy a few at a time every visit to the store, and if I save them up between Disney trips I can usually pay for my entire vacation package with Disney Gift Cards!

I hope this helped, and We'll See You Real Soon, Dylan!
