I'm planning a Trip to Disney World Dec 28-Jan 4. I'm having a hard time deciding what days to do what parks. What is the best park for New Years Eve? What is the best plan for New Years Day? Will Disney Springs be open for New Years Day?

    Welcome to planDisney!

I’m excited to hear that you’ll be visiting The Most Magical Place on Earth during the holiday season! New Year’s is always so magical, and I’m sure you’re going to have a lovely time!

While there hasn’t been an official announcement on New Year’s festivities at the Walt Disney World Resort theme parks yet (keep your eye on the Disney Parks Blog for those updates) I can give you my personal opinion on what I like to enjoy during New Year’s with Mickey!

I would recommend visiting either Magic Kingdom Park or EPCOT on New Year’s Eve. Both of these parks typically have something exciting going on, and have historically featured amazing firework displays for the holiday! For New Year’s Day I would say it’s completely up to you, but I usually enjoy visiting Animal Kingdom Theme Park or Disney’s Hollywood Studios as they typically are a little less crowded, and I enjoy the lower crowds and shorter wait times for attractions!

Disney Springs should be welcoming Guests on New Year’s Day, although some businesses may be closed due to the holiday. (Again, watch the Disney Parks Blog for updates and information!)

You’ll be visiting during the last few days of EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays, Laura! I’d highly recommend spending some time there before the 30th of December to enjoy the magic!

If you have additional questions, we’d love to hear from you again at planDisney!
