I'm planning a trip to Disney Florida in 2021,it will be here faster than i think lol. This trip will be special as it's Disney Florida's 50th and it will be my 50th Birthday. Any advice will be helpful. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity.

    Hello, dear Thomas!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thank you for allowing us to plan this magic carpet ride with you! What an honor!

You're right to start thinking about this trip in advance. Before making all of your decisions, it's crucial to think about a date to go. It's better if you can travel in the lower seasons, when most of the kids are at school, for example. Since you'll be celebrating with the Walt Disney World Resort, it seems to me that the beginning of November would be perfect.

For me, the ideal time frame to start making important decisions is around ten months before my vacation. That's the moment to build a budget, choose a Disney Resort hotel, select your tickets, create a Theme Park plan, and select the experiences you want to enjoy. Some of the best experiences at the Walt Disney World Resort require reservations 180 days in advance, so it's vital to have a plan before it's time to book them.

Since it's a once in a lifetime trip, I'd suggest staying close to Magic Kingdom Park to enjoy nightly fireworks shows, monorail and boat access to this Theme Park and stay, literally, as close to the magic as possible. Disney's Polynesian Village Resort is favorite on the Monorail loop, but Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and Disney's Contemporary Resort are also superb choices.

After choosing your Disney Resort hotel, it will be time to make a reservation and decide on your Theme Park approach. I like to make a spreadsheet with the dates, deciding on Theme Park days, Resort days, and experiences so that I can fit everything perfectly. Then, it will be time to choose between 1 Park Per Day tickets, Park Hopper Option Tickets, and Park Hopper Plus Option tickets, for example.

When you're 200 days out, it's wise to have a plan considering Resort and Theme Park experiences. One of the things that make the Walt Disney World Resort so unique, in my opinion, is that it's a fully realized vacation destination. With over 20 exclusive hotels, it's a place where you can easily spend two weeks enjoying different aspects of a vacation.

I'd highly suggest visiting Disney's Wilderness Lodge for the Story Book Dining at Artist Point with Snow White, for example. For a special birthday night out, my suggestion is the Wanyama Safari. Jiko - The Cooking Place is my favorite restaurant at the Walt Disney World Resort!

It's vital to make your dining reservations precisely 180 days out so that you can get the tables you want at the times you want.

Finally, don't forget to use the advanced FastPass+ access to your advantage. Among many other benefits, Guests staying at Disney Resort hotels can book their FastPass+ reservations 30 days before other visitors do.  This benefit is surreally strategic to score coveted attractions like Avatar Flight of Passage at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, for example.

I hope that these tips help you make this dream come true, Thomas! We will be here to help you navigate every step of the way, so don't hesitate to come back. We'd love to help more!

May the magic be with you,
