Hi there, Tracy!
From one Floridian to another, welcome to planDisney. Visiting Walt Disney World Resort during the holidays is pretty magical, especially if you’re there right before the end of December (around Christmas and New Year’s Eve). You get to experience events like
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and
Disney Jollywood Nights before Mouseketeers from all over the world start their adventures and local children are out school for winter break.
There is always a chance that one of the Disney Parks can reach capacity. But you’re 100% right about Magic Kingdom Park being particularly popular during the holiday season. Even if you’ve already started your Disney day, you could still see that not-so-happy
My Disney Experience App notification that a theme park is at maximum capacity.
But Hakuna Matata, Tracy! For one, the weeks leading up to the later December holidays are usually not as busy (in fact, I’ve even experienced low crowds during this time). Of course, be prepared for anything and have a back-up theme park in mind if one of the theme parks becomes full. If you’re looking to end your day at
Magic Kingdom Park, whether to get a tasty DOLE Whip from Adventureland or to see the nighttime spectacular fireworks, I recommend that you park hop to Magic Kingdom Park no later than early afternoon to be on the safer side.
Tracy, if you have any other questions about your wintry Disney getaway,
revisit us here at planDisney. Any one of the panelists will be more than happy to help you. See you real soon!
Magic always,
LeAndra
