    Hello, I'm planning a trip to Disney around Jan or Feb to propose to my partner. I'm not sure how I should go about making it as magical as possible and was looking for some ideas to put it together. Fireworks would be nice too. Thank you.

    Hey there Bryan, and welcome to planDisney!

    For my husband and I, we actually both planned surprise proposals for each other at Disney Destinations; mine took place on a trip to Disneyland Paris and he popped the question at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. You could say it was so nice, we did it twice! Here are some of our tips for the perfect Disney proposal at Walt Disney World Resort:

    • We were inspired by some of the Enchanting Extras available for engagements; use this as a jumping off point to think about the different settings at the Theme Parks or Resort Hotels where you'd like to pop the question. Do they have a special spot or attraction that they absolutely love where you'll be able to (safely) pull out a ring? Keep in mind that wherever you decide, you'll both always remember that exact spot whenever you return!
    • If you're planning on proposing during the day at one of the Theme Parks, consider a Capture Your Moment session and be sure to let your photographer know where you'd like it to happen! When we did it they had special props available and I recommend booking two sessions back-to-back for some additional time post-proposal.
    • The Cast Members at the dining locations often get super excited when they find out that someone's about to propose; we've witnessed quite a few at Cinderella's Royal Table! If you time it right, you'd be able to finish in time to head out and watch Happily Ever After for the perfect way to celebrate but it might also be a great idea to get reservations for a Fireworks Dessert Party to ensure you have a great spot. Other great dining locations where you'll be able to watch the fireworks include Narcoossee's on the waterfront across the Seven Seas Lagoon or up at California Grill on the outdoor platforms overlooking Magic Kingdom Park. 
    • I also recently helped plan a proposal during the fireworks at EPCOT, and it could be the perfect setting to symbolize the start of your adventures together. My proposal involved chartering our own private watercraft, which you can also do for a surprise fireworks cruise moment! While several of these Specialty Cruises can take you to view Magic Kingdom Park from afar, I prefer the ones that sail right into the World Showcase Lagoon for a fireworks experience with what I consider the best and closest view possible - and hopefully by early 2024 you'll both be able to see the new nighttime spectacular!
