I’m planning a trip to Disney but the app, virtual queue, genie, lightning lane etc has me almost in tears. Is there a service where someone can set it up for you?

Hey Howdy Hey Kristina and welcome to planDisney!

I am so excited to hear that you will be visiting the Walt Disney World Resort really soon. While planning your vacation should be one of the fun parts, I completely understand where this can also get overwhelming with all of the lingo, products and options you have for your vacation. Honestly, that is one of the best parts about a trip to Disney but can also be the most overwhelming and anxiety-producing! Never fear, you've got a friend in me who can help you through this!

Specifically to your question about helping you navigate all the details, yes there is however will come at a cost. Many travel agencies that specialize in trips to Walt Disney World can do the full planning for you as well as a la carte planning. These services may come at a cost, typically they will charge a per-day fee for the assistance they offer. That being said, if you did use a travel agency, I would start with them as they should help you with no extra fee. If not, you can start by doing an internet search for "Authorized Disney Vacation Planners" for a list of reputable sources recognized by Disney.

If you want to continue to figure this out on your own, I've got faith that you can as there still is plenty of time to do so! The first place to start would be to download and play around with the My Disney Experience app. This pretty much has all of your vacation information and details there. On the Home screen, this will show all the specifics for you and your plans per day and any recommendations for you. This is where you can purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass, Lightning Lane Single Pass or use Disney Genie Service to plan your day for you by selecting your interests and specifics. Just get familiar with all the options you have on there, feel free to click on things and just explore the app. This will be your lifesaver in the parks and when planning your day!

The next thing I would do is to plan out your "must-do" attractions and dining if you haven't already. Once you do, look them up on the app. The information there will tell you which park things are in, information on height requirements and most importantly how to ride. Most attractions will have traditional stand-by lines but also may have other options with quicker access with the purchase and selection of Lightning Lane Multi Pass, opportunities to guarantee a specific time with Lightning Lane Single Pass or no stand-by line or only Virtual Queue. While you can search for things on the app, your other option will be to turn to social media!

After you have your list of items, I would search on YouTube for things like "how to purchase and use Lightning Lane Multi Pass" or "How to ride Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind". They will take you on a step-by-step basis on how to get these things done now as well as on the day of your park visit.

The last thing to keep in mind while in the parks is the Guest Experience Team. These Cast Members are in each park and various locations with a huge umbrella and will help you navigate anything you have questions about.

I know it is a lot, but take things one step at a time and you'll get there! If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out specifically to me for any follow-ups!

    To Infinity and Beyond,

    Nick
