Hi Claudia!
Congratulations on your upcoming trip to the most magical place on earth!
You are going to have an amazing time celebrating your husband's and son's birthdays! When you arrive, make sure to ask for a complimentary "Happy Birthday" button. A Cast Member can personalize the buttons with their names.
There are a few options that you have for your toy Maltese. You can drop your little cutie off at
Walt Disney World Resort Pet Boarding/Kennels while you are at the theme parks or Disney Springs. This amazing facility opens an hour prior to the parks opening until one hour after closing. Other than service animals, dogs are not permitted in the parks, so this is a great option!
There are also four Walt Disney World Resort hotels that participate in the dog-friendly resort hotel pilot program. This means that you can bring your pup with you on vacation! These resorts even have outdoor walkways with pet relief stations.
Disney's Art of Animation,
Port Orleans-Riverside,
Yacht Club, and
The Cabins at Fort Wilderness Resorts participate in this program. While you are at a pet-friendly resort, your pup can stay with you.
Walt Disney World allows
service animals in the parks and resorts. According to the guidelines, "a service animal is a dog or miniature horse that is trained to do work or perform tasks for, and to assist, an individual with a disability." I do not believe that emotional support animals fall under this category, but you can contact
Disability Services at (407) 560-2547 or email disability.services@disneyparks.com to discuss your specific needs.
I hope you have a magical vacation!
Magically,
Stacy
