I’m planning o taking my family in mid January to early February and booking a VIP tour. We don’t want to go if our favorite rides are closed. How can we find out in advance what rides are closed for refurbishment on what dates?

Hi there Jackie! Welcome to planDisney! It sounds like your new year will be off to a great start with a visit to the Disneyland Resort!

Having been on a tour at The Happiest Place on Earth, I can tell you that it's a great way to add some extra pixie dust to what is sure to be a magical day! It is so generous and thoughtful of you to want to treat your family to this special experience. I can understand why you would want to make sure you and your family can ride your favorite attractions. At this time, the Daily Hours & Events Calendar only reflects the refurbishment schedule approximately six weeks out. In my experience, there are some refurbishments that happen in January and February because these are generally lower attendance months. Unfortunately, there is no way to find out this far in advance what attractions, if any, might be under refurbishment. I would suggest that you go ahead and plan to take a Disneyland Resort VIP Tour. You can reserve the tour by calling 1-714-300-7710 or sending an email to Disney Special Activities at DisneylandVIPTours@disney.com. If you later decide you want to cancel, you can do so as long as it is more than 48 hours before the tour date. If you book the VIP Tour as part of a Walt Disney Travel Company Package, the tour is nonrefundable when canceled four days or less prior to arrival.

Another important thing to note is that the VIP tour does not include theme park admission. Each person that will be part of the tour will need a theme park ticket and a theme park reservation for Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure Park, or both if you plan to visit both during your tour.

If you have more planning questions before your visit, please stop by planDisney again. We would love to help!

    Happy Planning!
    Smiles,
    Lisa
