Hi I'm planning a surprise trip to WDW for my wife's 30th bday! We are bringing our 3 year old with us who loves Peter Pan, I was wanting to have a character meal for us and I was wondering how and what would be the best way to go.

Hi, Tobie!  What a wonderful birthday surprise this is going to be for your wife!  I hope everything works out magically!

There are quite a few character meals at Walt Disney World, although none currently feature Peter Pan.  You can do Chef Mickey's for breakfast for dinner, where you can usually find Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy; or you can do the Crystal Palace at the Magic Kingdom for breakfast, lunch or dinner with Pooh and friends.  Donald's Safari Breakfast takes place at Tusker House Restaurant in Disney's Animal Kingdom, or you can see Lilo and Stitch at breakfast at 'Ohana in the Polynesian Resort.  If your little guy is into Little Einsteins,  you'll find them at lunch at Hollywood and Vine at Disney's Hollywood Studios currently.

All you have to do to book a reservation is call 407-WDW-DINE.  Currently, you can book 90 days before your arrival, but beginning at the end of October, you can book 180 days in advance.  The character dining experiences book up quickly, so call as soon as you can.

And if you have Peter Pan on your radar, I can't recommend highly enough the Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage.  This is a great way to celebrate a birthday!  The voyage leaves after a snack buffet at the Contemporary Resort on select nights.  After a meet and greet with Captain Hook and Mr. Smee, you board boats for a special viewing location for the Wishes Fireworks from the Magic Kingdom and the Electric Water Pageant.  When you return to port, you'll see your favorite Lost Boy himself!  Peter Pan is there to greet you when  you arrive safe back at the Contemporary.  This is so much fun!  Call 407-WDW-PLAY to book this experience.

    Have a magical time!
