I'm planning to surprise my kids with a trip the week of Christmas and I was wondering are the park hours still 9-9pm or do they change them up for the holiday?

Howdy, Candy! Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Wow! A surprise trip to the Happiest Place on Earth for Christmas sounds unbelievably magical! While official hours for December won’t be posted for a few months, I would plan on extended hours during the week of Christmas since this is a pretty popular time to visit. In general, the parks will open around 8:00 or 9:00 a.m. and close anywhere from 9:00 p.m. to midnight. So you’ll definitely have plenty of time to soak in all the holiday fun during your visit.

Some of the exciting things you can look forward to are A Christmas Fantasy Parade marching down Main Street, U.S.A. daily, the “Believe…in Holiday Magic” fireworks at night, and a few seasonal overlays on popular attractions. Over in Disney California Adventure Park will be the Disney Festival of Holidays which features food and performances from a variety of different cultures. In the past, this was also where you could meet Santa Claus in the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail area. Definitely keep your eye on the Disney Parks Blog for announcements about holiday offerings in the parks this year.

Please don’t hesitate to visit us again with any other questions. Happy planning!
