I'm planning to stay at a Disney Resort hotel, but don't intend to visit park on all days. Do I need to have a theme park ticket and also a reservation on the date of check in OR Do I need to have a park ticket and also a reservation on all days?

    Neeraj,

Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!

No, you do not have to have a park ticket or a theme park reservation for every day of your Disney Resort Hotel visit. When my family visits, we often will not go to a park on our arrival day, and we always plan a no-park day in the middle of our trip. It helps us get some relaxation in the middle of an otherwise busy vacation!

When you purchase your vacation package, you will be asked to pick how many park days you need. So let us say, for example, that you are coming for a 7-night stay but want to visit parks on only 5 of your days. You pick dates for your hotel stay, but then just get 5 days of park tickets. Disney always gives you plenty of days to redeem those tickets. In this example, you can redeem those 5 theme park tickets across an 8-day span, allowing for that no-park day on your arrival day, some no-park days in the middle of your trip, and so on.

What you do want to do soon after purchasing your vacation package is to select your Theme Park Reservations. You are picking what specific days you want to visit parks, and which ones. So again, in our example, you would select a park for your first full day of the vacation, then the second, and so on. You pick a specific park for each of these reservations, and it also then helps you with planning out the rest of your trip, like where you want to eat, what you want to ride, and other activities. For days where you choose not to go to a park, like my family's mid-week no-park day, you just don't make a theme park reservation.
