Hello Kandon, welcome to planDisney!
Disney's Contemporary Resort has always been on our family's favorite list. We have stayed here many times and have so many special memories. It seems like yesterday when my son told us he was going to be a Monorail Pilot when staying here and sure enough, he met that goal years ago when he joined the Disney College Program.
The rooms at Disney's Contemporary Resort are the same regardless if you stay in the Garden Wing or the A-frame Contemporary Tower. All rooms have recently been renovated with theming from The Incredibles. If you haven't already, I would suggest going on YouTube to watch some of the many room tours available so you can get an idea of the layout and theming for the rooms.
When I stayed in the Garden Wing, I found the location to be quieter as you are away from all the activity in the tower. It is more of a walk from the lobby area but it's not too bad. The rooms do not have balconies but rooms on the first floor do have patio areas you can walk out to.
Staying in an A-frame Contemporary tower room is more convenient. It's so nice to exit the monorail and take an elevator to your room. The rooms have balconies and the views are spectacular from them. You may hear noise from
Chef Mickey's or the shops below.
Our family prefers to stay in the tower. With a Magic Kingdom view, you can watch the fireworks at night from the convenience of your balcony. However, we preferred to stay on the side of Bay Lake so we could easily watch the monorails breeze through the tower. Your decision comes down to personal preference and budget. The rooms have become quite expensive over the years so if you decide to stay in the Garden Wing, you can always walk around the tower to watch the monorails or view the fireworks from the 4th floor observation deck.
Have a magical vacation, Kandon!
