Hi there! I'm planning on spending the morning and afternoon in Magic Kingdom but wanted to grab lunch at Chef Mickey's. My family has a single-day pass, not the park hopper option. Am I able to leave the park and come back on the same day?

    Hi Candice,

Thanks for checking in with us! It sounds as if you have planned a spectacular day for your family at Magic Kingdom.

With a single-day, non-parkhopper ticket, you are entitled to come and go at the same park throughout the day. So your plan to take a midday break at Chef Mickey's is perfect. From the entrance of Magic Kingdom, it will take just about 10 minutes to walk to the Contemporary Resort and make your way to Chef Mickey's for an all-you-care-to-eat meal with visits by Mickey and his friends Minnie, Goofy, Donald and Pluto.

You also can take the monorail to the Contemporary if you choose, but it likely will take longer. I find it's more convenient to walk.

Chef Mickey's is one of the most popular character dining experiences at Walt Disney World, so advance dining reservations are highly recommended and should be booked as soon as possible. Then you can schedule your FastPass+ reservations around your time with Chef Mickey.

Wishing you a magical visit, Candice, and please let us know if you have any other questions. Enjoy!
