I'm planning my son's first trip to WDW and plan on 2 days at the Magic Kingdom, and another poolside, maybe venture off-site one day. I know that MK has ext. hours on Sun, so wondering what other day we should go. Is the park busier on Sat than Mon?

    Hi Crystal,

A first trip to Walt Disney World is always super exciting!  Your son is going to love it and you're going to love it seeing it through his eyes.

I'm not sure when you are planning to visit.  There are a few things that could factor into Magic Kingdom being busier on a day than others that you may want to consider.  On the days that Extra Magic Hours are offered during the morning, Magic Kingdom will be more crowded first thing.  Depending on when you are visiting, the crowds could thin out a little during the early afternoon hours when Guests head back to their resorts for naps and swim breaks.

If you are visiting during a time when a special event is planned or around a holiday, you can expect it to be more crowded.  Saturdays can be more crowded because of local residents visiting the parks.  Mondays can be crowded since a lot of Guests arrive on Sunday and want to spend their first day in a park at the Magic Kingdom.

I would alternate days in the Magic Kingdom with a day outside the park.  Two back-to-back days in the park can be a little overwhelming for small children and wear them out.  I've found it nice to have a more low key day in between my parks days.

Let us know if you had more questions during your planning.  We love to help!  Wishing you many magical memories :-) Allison
